Dorothy Sibleen Taylor

Funeral for Dorothy Sibleen Taylor, 82, of Somerville will be Mon., Dec. 31, 2012, at 11 a.m. at United Christian Church of God with the Rev. David Taylor and the Rev. Equater Black officiating and Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home directing.

The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Somerville Historic Cemetery.

Mrs. Taylor died peacefully at home on Dec. 28, 2012. She was born Sept. 12, 1930, to William Arther McDowell and Annie Mae Bennitt McDowell. Mrs. Taylor was a member of United Christian Church of God. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Clarence McDowell, Ardell McDowell and Robert McDowell, and a sister, Nellie Mason.

She is survived by her husband, David Herschel Taylor; two sons, the Rev. David W. Taylor and Jerry Lee Taylor, both of Somerville; two daughters, Joyice M. Roof and Donna L. Baker, both of Huntsville; a brother; Charles McDowell of Aaron, Tenn.; a sister, Betty Howard of Muscle Shoals; 10 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be David Adams, Larry Maze, Steven Duncan, James Baker, Christ Dillard and Bill Roof.
