HHS Lady Tigers to honor state title teams

On Thursday, Hartselle High School will be welcoming back its girls 1984 and 1985 state championship basketball teams with a celebration in their honor at halftime of the West Morgan basketball game.

One member, Vickie Orr, was the state tournament MVP and went on to a stellar career at Auburn University, where she was a three time All-American and All-SEC selection. She was the SEC player of the year in 1988.

In the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, Vickie competed and helped lead the United States to a Bronze Medal. She will be inducted into the 2013 Class of the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame.

Also, the Hartselle Alumni Association will be sponsoring a chili supper on this night as well. The meal will be served from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. and will include chili, dessert and a drink for $5. Come out and support HHS basketball and get a great meal also.
