A private funeral service for Betty Jean Skipworth Edwards, 79, of Lacey’s Spring will be Thur., Dec. 20, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in Gum Springs Cemetery. A private family visitation will be Thur., Dec. 20, from 12:30 to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Edwards died Tues., Dec. 18, 2012, at her residence. She was born May 6, 1933, in Morgan County to Clarence Skipworth and Mary Parrish Skipworth. Mrs. Edwards was a homemaker and was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Edwards; and a son, Steve Edwards.

She is survived by one son, Larry Edwards of Decatur; three daughters, Lisa Jones of Lacey’s Spring, Linda Bell of Decatur and Debbie Lake of Neel; two brothers, Jerry Skipworth, and Joe Skipworth; one sister, Pat Jones; eight grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be family members, Scott Springer, Cleaton Springer, Bryon Jones, Rayburn Lake, Bo Bell and Larry Edwards.
