David Julian Bethea

Mr. David Bethea, 86, of Hartselle, died Dec. 18, 2012, at his home.

A Miami, Fla., native,M r. Beathea retired to Morgan County in 1983. He was a self-employed welder and served his country proudly in the Navy during WWII. He was a member of Priceville United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and eight siblings.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

The family wishes to thank Hospice of the Valley and Caregivers of the Valley for their support during the final months of Mr. Bethea’s life. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Hospice of the Valley (P.O. Box 2745, Decatur, AL 35602) or a charitable organization of your choice.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Libba; three sons, David and wife Sheila of Mesa, Ariz., Pleas and wife Ingrid of Bankston and Carl and wife Judie of Palm Coast, Fla.; a daughter, Julie and husband Eric of Madison; a brother, Peter Bethea of Creede, Colo.; five grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.

Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home is assisting in the arrangements.
