Lady Devils win at West Morgan

Falkville’s Lady Blue Devils (8-1) beat the Rebels at West Morgan on Saturday 49-36. Patricia Kilgore lead all scoring with 16 points.

Falkville had a steady lead at halftime 31-11, but West Morgan fought back in the second half, holding the Blue Devils to eight points in the third quarter and 10 in the fourth.

West Morgan only managed four points for themselves in the third, but after a series of three-pointers in the fourth, the Lady Rebels put 21 points on the board.

Autumn Eddy had 12 points for the Devils and seven rebounds. Emily Mickelson scored nine points, Sydney Moore had five, Lizzie Davis finished with four points, Bailey Anders had two, and Shelby Dye added a free throw.

The boys team came up a little short against the Rebels on Saturday (71-56.) Canaan Smith led in scoring with 18 points and eight rebounds. West Morgan led during the intermission 40-33. Fighting back in the third quarter, FHS managed 17 points and West Morgan had 23. The fourth quarter only had a combined 14 points scored, eight by West Morgan and six by Falkville.

Falkville will fall to 2-5 on the season. Travis Cole also added 15 points and five rebounds. Aaron Estes finished with 10 points and eight rebounds. Caleb Anders managed five points, Trevor Blackwood had four, and both Lucas Johnson and Clay Austill had two points.

Falkville hosted St. Bernard on Tues., Dec. 11 at Drake Gymnasium.
