Falkville man admits to exposing children to meth

A man is in custody today after admitting that his children were exposed to methamphetamine in his home.

Don Evan Robinson III of 85 Sharpton Road in Falkville was arrested and charged with the unlawful possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine, unlawful possession of a controlled substance – clonazepam (0.5mg) and for the chemical endangerment of a child. Judge Waters set bail for the suspect at $52,500.

Sheriff Ana Franklin said in a press release that the Morgan County Drug Task Force had received information Monday that a 10-year-old girl had been exposed to methamphetamine on Sun., Nov. 25, at residence located at 85 Sharpton Road in Falkville.

The incident was reported to the Morgan County Drug Task Force by a family member, who was concerned about drug items discovered at the residence. The family member also was concerned for the safety of the two juveniles.

Morgan County Drug Task Force agents arrived at the residence and made contact with both juvenile children and the parents of those children

In a statement provided by parent Don Evan Robinson III, he stated there had been methamphetamine in the home on the date in question and even claimed the methamphetamine belong to himself.

Morgan County DHR was contacted and advised of the incident. Children were released in the care of the mother, who was advised to seek medical attention for her children due to being exposed to methamphetamine in the residence. Follow up with children is pending with Morgan County DHR.
