Byron P. Swann

Funeral for Byron P. Swann, 73, of Decatur was Sat., Nov. 17, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. John Smith officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial was in Shoal Creek Cemetery.

Mr. Swann died on Wed., Nov. 14, 2012, at the residence of his special friend. He was born July 25, 1939, in Morgan County to William Carl Swann and Dessie (Pruitt) Swann. Mr. Swann was a Christian man that loved everybody, especially all of his friends at the American Legion Post 15, and his Special Cousin: Paul Pruitt, and all his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Marshall E. Swann and Omar R. Swann; and a sister- in-law, Mary Swann Clark.

He is survived by two sons, Richard Allen Swann of and Busby Pruitt Swann, both of Moulton; special friend and “Love of his Life,” Betty Goodwin of Hartselle; two brothers, Wallace O’Neill Swann of Arley and Hershell Swann of Texas; and a sister, Margie N. Swann of Texas.

Pallbearers will be his nephews.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the American Legion Post 15 and Gary Watkins.
