Hartselle, county participate in Yellow Dot

The ‘Yellow Dot ‘ Program is funded under the Law Enforcement and Traffic safety Division of ADECA and is free to its participants.

“I would encourage people of all ages to sign up for the program because it can helpful in so many ways,” said program coordinator Lora Weaver with the Northeast Alabama Traffic Safety Office.

She related an incident that occurred during a church service in Jefferson County involving an elderly man who was suffering from symptoms mimicking a heart attack. There were no family members present, E911 was called and he was taken by ambulance to a local hospital. Then some of his friends remembered that he had signed up for the Yellow Dot Program. They found the Yellow Dot folder in the glove compartment of his automobile and carried it to the Hospital ER where he was undergoing treatment.

Individuals wishing to participate in the “Yellow Dot” Program can sign up at these enrollment locations: Morgan County Sheriff’s Office, Decatur Police Department, Hartselle Fire Station #1, Falkville Town Hall, Priceville Town Hall. Somerville Town Hall and Trinity Town Hall.
