Smyth, Davis to wed June 2 in Decatur

John and Denise Smyth of Hartselle are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Jodie Deanna Smyth, to Jonathan Robert Davis, son of Deborah Davis and Larry and Carolyn Davis, all of Trenton.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of James and Deanna Cartledge of Birmingham and Davene and the late William Smyth of West Blocton.

She is a 2006 graduate of Decatur Heritage High School and a student at Wallace State Community College where she is studying for a career in occupational therapy.

The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of Robert and the late Lavaina Davis and Todd and Jewel Gipson, all of Trenton.

He is a 2000 graduate of Skyline High School and is attending Athens State University where he is studying for a career in health and wellness/entrepreneurship. He is employed at Bender’s Gym in Decatur as director of personal training.

The wedding will be June 2, 2012, at Decatur Baptist Church.
