Funeral for Herbert A. Yates, 89, of Falkville will be Sat., April 14, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home with Phillip Hines officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Visitation will be Sat., April 14, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Hartselle City Cemetery.

Mr. Yates died Wed., April 11, 2012, at Summerford Nursing Home. He was born Jan. 6, 1923, in Morgan County to William Berry Yates and Sarah Emma Tanksley Yates. He was a member of Hartselle Church of Christ. He worked as a water boy for the C.C.C. camp in Hartselle in the 1930s and later for Alabama Flour Mill and International Paper Co. He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by a daughter, Deborah Kay Garrison of Athens; two sisters, Blanche Louise Burnett and Harriet D. Tanner, both of Hartselle; and two surviving grandchildren, Regina Smith of Moulton and Rebecca Brown of Georgia.

Pallbearers will be friends.
