The National Weather Service has placed the Tennessee Valley under a moderate risk of severe weather today.

A tornado watch issued for Morgan County and the Tennessee Valley area was canceled around 11:50 a.m. today, but there will likely be another tornado watch issued later today.

The threat of inclement weather has forced Hartselle City Schools to close early.

Elementary Schools closed  at 11 a.m. Junior high and high schools closed at 11:30 a.m.

Tornado damage has already been reported in Limestone and Madison counties.
