Shady Grove roundup promises fun

A Men’s Breakfast will be held at Shady Grove Baptist Church on Sat., Aug. 13, at 7 a.m. in the church fellowship hall. Guest speaker will be Scott Anderson.

Special belated happy wedding anniversary wishes go out this week to Paul and Frances Rowe on Aug. 2 and Scott and Linda Huskey on Aug. 6.

Belated happy birthday wishes go out to Scott Huskey and Braxton Jones, both on Aug. 1, Pat Smith on Aug, 6, Lillie Smith on Aug. 7 and Paul Rowe on Aug. 8.

Special happy birthday wishes go out to Linda Huskey on Aug. 11 and Earlene Morris on Aug. 13.

Mrs. Jeannie Alexander shares the following Bible verse with readers this week: “And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God (Micah 6:8).

Special congratulations go out this week to Brad and Melinda Turrentine on the birth of their daughter, Olivia Noelle Turrentine. She was born on July 26 weighing seven pounds and 12 ounces and measuring 21 inches long.

A special hello goes out this week to Bobby and Carrie King, Mildred Wigginton and Linda Wiley.

I want to remind everyone that the Shady Grove Baptist Church Roundup will be held on Sat., Aug. 13, from noon until 7 p.m. Chance Hill will give a demonstration on horse training from 5 to 7 p.m. Other activities will include a barbecue cook-off, Morgan County Cattlemen’s rib eye steak sandwiches, free hot dogs and soft drinks, music and much more. The LifeSouth Bloodmobile will operate from 1 to 5 p.m. Everyone is invited to come out for lots of fun. Please bring lawn chairs.
