Funeral for Emmett O’Neal Gaines, 50, of Hartselle was Sat., Aug. 6, at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Barry Cook officiating.

Burial was in Union Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Gaines died Mon., Aug. 1, 2011, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born June 8, 1961, in Morgan County to Emmett Melvin Gaines and Lena Estelle Hall Gaines. He was a very kind and generous person who loved to help others. He was a 1979 graduate of the former Morgan County High School and was preceded in death by a brother, Bubby Gaines, two sisters, Louise Shaneyfelt and Flora Etta Gaines and his parents.

He is survived by a son, Nicholas Gaines and wife Deanna of Lewisville, Tex.; two brothers, Randy Gaines and wife Lisa of Falkville and Melvin Gaines of Hartselle; a sister, Mable Lou Turner of Neel.
