Segars, Carden to wed this Saturday

Tim Segars and Tena Segars, both of Hartselle, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Brittney Lee Segars of Hartselle to Andrew Glen Carden, son of the late Mark Glen Carden, stepmother Ms. Ginny Carden of Hartselle, mother Mrs. Patricia Partlow and stepfather Mr. Robert Partlow of Madison.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Ms. Mildred Spigner and the late James Paul Spigner of Hartselle, the late Melvin Harold Segars of Hartselle and Cleo Nowell of Huntsville.

She is a 2005 graduate of Hartselle High School and a graduate of the University of Alabama in Huntsville with a B.S. degree in biological sciences. She is currently attending Auburn University Harrison School of Pharmacy and will graduate in 2013 with a doctor of pharmacy degree.

The prospective groom is the grandson of Ms. Alberta Carden and the late Bobby Glen Carden of Hartselle, Mrs. Mary G. Bateman of Decatur and the late Roger Bateman of Decatur.

He is a 2000 graduate of Hartselle High School and a graduate of Cumberland University where he received an undergraduate degree in history in 2006 and a masters in educational administration in 2008. He is currently serving as director of baseball operations for the University of South Alabama.

The wedding is planned for July 16, 2011, at Quail Creek Resort, southeast of Hartselle.
