Priceville scores in seventh to beat Danville

Priceville scored one run in the bottom of seventh inning to defeat Danville 5-4 on Monday, March 7.

Both teams scored three runs in the first inning, but Danville took the lead with one run in the second inning.

Priceville later tied it in the third inning, but no one could score until the final at bat.

Mandy Bunnell singled and was moved to second by a Emily Williams fielder’s choice.

“With two outs, Amber Johnson hit the game winning double to score Mandy Bunnell,” said Priceville coach Chris Odom. “Shayna Bond settled down after the first inning and did a great job pitching.”

Bunnell finished the game 3-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and two runs. Danielle Richard was 2-for-4 with two runs, a double and a stolen base.

Amber Johnson added another double and an RBI while Meaghan Bond was 2-for-4 with a double.

Shayna Bond earned the win by allowing three earned runs on seven hits and two walks with two strikeouts.
