Cochrane, Cherkasky exchange vows

Lyndsea Lane Cochrane of Decatur and Ethan Davies Cherkasky, of Larchmont, N.Y. were married July 31, 2010, at 7 p.m. at Gurley’s Soggy Bottom Barn in Somerville.
The bride is the daughter of Jim and Charlotte Cochrane. She is also the granddaughter of Edna and the late James Cochrane of Decatur and Bobbie and Jackie Reding of Courtland.
The groom is the son of Betsy and Michael Cherkasky. He is also the grandson of James and Peggy Ottenberg of New York City, N.Y. and the late Dr. Martin and the late Sarah Cherkasky of New York City, N.Y.
Mark D. LaBranche officiated the ceremony. The bride was given in marriage by her father, Jim Cochrane. The open-air barn was decorated with arches made from Jackson vine.
The main arch above the ceremony was covered in seasonal flowers.
The bride chose a Pnina Tornai from Kleinfeld’s of New York. Her veil was cathedral length and her flowers contained Amer-ican lotus-seed pods.
Serving as matron of honor was Lori Beth Boston of Courtland. Maid of honor was Rachel Arbeit of New York City, N.Y.
Bridesmaids were Dinah Cherkasky of Larchmont, N.Y., Susannah Heyworth, Erin Stockie and Lizzie Stein, all of New York City, N.Y., Rachel Coleman of Boston, Mass., Leslie Cheng of Los Angeles, Calif. and Mary Katheryn Evans of Phil Campbell.
The bridesmaids wore knee-length lapis dresses. Their bouquets also  contained American lotus-seed pods.
Best man was Eli Cherkasky of New York City, N.Y.
Groomsmen were Adam Brackin of Hatton, Devin Cooch of Hoboken, N.J., Andrew Halket, Jim Heyworth, Nick Viazzo and Christopher Robert-son, all of New York City, N.Y., Jon Kay of Los Angeles, Calif. and Ted Schroeder of Pittsburg, Penn.
The flower girl was Emberli Daniel and the ring bearer was Brayden Palma.
The guest book was attended by Ragan Chastian.
A reception was held immediately following the ceremony on the grounds beside the lake.
The bride’s cake was vanilla with butter cream frosting and vanilla filling and was adorned with flowers.
The groom’s cake had a Yankees baseball theme with the logo and blue pinstripes in honor of the couple’s favorite baseball team.
The wedding was directed by Susan Williams.
Music was provided by the Soggy Bottom Boys blue-grass band. DJing was provided by Donnie Gibson.
Assisting with the reception was Timbuck2 of Decatur.
After a two-week honeymoon in Positano, Italy and Barcelona, Spain, the couple resides in New York City, N.Y.
The couple was honored with several prenuptial parties, including:
• An engagement party was held in November and hosted by the Cherkasky family in Larchmont, N.Y.
• A Christmas shower was hosted by Pam Dixon and Heather Evans in Haleyville  in December.
• Betsy Cherkasky, Dinah Cherkasky, Susannah Heyworth and Patricia Duffy hosted a northern bridal shower in Larchmont, N.Y., in April.
• In April a host of friends and family gave a southern bridal shower in Courtland.
• A Trapeze School bachelorette party was given in June by Rachel Arbeit and a host of friends in New York City, N.Y.
• The groomsmen attended a New York Yanakee’s baseball game in June.
