Funeral for Pat Couch, 58, of Hartselle was Tuesday, Aug. 21, at 10 a.m. at Pine Street Baptist Church in Falkville with the Revs. Roger Ammons and Daniel Couch officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was in New Center Cemetery.
Mrs. Couch died Thursday, Aug. 16, 2007, at her residence. She was born Feb. 21, 1949, in Illinois to John Thomas Smartt and Clemy Beatrice Toseland Smartt. She was a member of Pine Street Baptist Church where she served as secretary/treasurer.
She was a prayer warrior, loved to sing gospel music and had sung for many years with the Spiritual Echoes. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and a true Godly example and friend to all.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her stepfather, Orbin Lindley; a daughter, Rhonda Mullins Couch; a brother, Michael Smartt; and a sister, Lola Abbott. She is survived by her husband, Oddis Jay Couch of Hartselle; three sons, Thomas Wayne Simmons of Trinity, Robert Eugene Simmons of Hartselle and Daniel Jay Couch of Somerville; three brothers, Tom Smartt of Hartselle, Joel Lindley of Vinemont and Phillip Lindley of Gadsden; six sisters, Linda Smartt of Decatur, Sherry Rector of Charlotte, N.C., Beverly Billman of Michigan, Elaine Cain of Hartselle, Linda Gayle Suddeth of Falkville, Mildred Hill of Hartselle; 11 grandchildren, Brittany, Nicholas, Dustin, Christian, Bradley, Grace, Caleb, Abigail, Michael, Jessica and Terri.
Pallbearers were James Couch, Timmy Swims, John Swims, Dwayne Suddith, John Couch and Jason Couch.
