Staff Reports, Hartselle Enquirer
Priceville 11, Good Hope 1
No. 5 Priceville (15-3) had little difficulty with the Raiders in a home game Saturday afternoon.
The Bulldogs scored two runs in the first inning, one run in the second and one in the third before blowing the game open with a four-run fourth inning.
In that fourth inning, Priceville took advantage of a loss of control by Good Hope pitcher Tony Myrex. Jeremy Hale and Logan Manthey each walked and Wes Long was hit by a pitch to load the bases with nobody out. Eli Allen walked, scoring Hale. Matt Croft also walked and Manthey came home to score on a wild pitch to put Priceville up 6-1.
Jaime Epperly relieved Myrex, but not before the Bulldogs scored two more runs. Rand Hutchison hit a sacrifice fly to score Allen and Croft came home to score later on a Good Hope error.
Dustin Chambers pitched the win, working six innings and striking out four. He also finished 2-for-4 at the plate, including a home run. Kyle Bunnell was 2-for-3 and Lance Hughes had a solo home run in the second inning.
