Luther Eugene Johnson

Funeral for Luther Eugene Johnson, 85, of Falkville was Sunday, Jan. 25, at 1:30 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. David Hale and Billy Teague officiating.
Burial with military honors was held in Hartselle Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Johnson died Friday, Jan. 23, 2004, at Summerford Nursing Home. He was born Aug. 7, 1918, in Pulaski, Tenn. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. Mr. Johnson was a Mason and a member of the Mill Creek Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Madge Johnson of Falkville; two sons, Kenneth E. Johnson and wife Cindy of Winston, Ga. and Phillip C. Johnson and wife Trish of Monticello, Ga.; four step-sons, Kenneth A. Johnson and wife Carolyn of Hartselle, Billy Vest and wife Dona, Wayne Vest and wife Alene and Vance Vest and wife Ann, all of Falkville; three step daughters, JoAnn Montgomery and husband Milton of Hartselle, Oralean Brown and husband Wayne of North Carolina and Janice Newton and husband Donald of Lanette; one sister, Ruth Cruze of Florida; 18 grandchildren; and 26 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Bryan Vest, John Hart, Raymond Vinson, Bobby Strickland and Phillip Waldrep.
