Sonoco welcomes new FAME apprentices
Staff Reports
Sonoco Reels and Plugs is investing in the future of its workforce through the FAME (Federation for Advanced Manufacturing Education) program, welcoming two new apprentices to its team.
Sawyer Tapscott was awarded a full scholarship from Calhoun to combine with his sponsorship from Sonoco, allowing him to participate in the rigorous and competitive FAME program. Both Tapscott and Dunnivant will join Sonoco as industrial maintenance apprentice students.
The FAME program, designed to address the growing need for highly skilled advanced manufacturing technicians, combines classroom instruction with hands-on training at local companies.
