Somerville A funeral service for Pastor David Wayne Taylor, 75, was held Sunday, April 6, 2025, at 11:00 AM at United Christian Church of God with Rev. Dr. Jason Taylor and Bro. Mike Price officiating. Burial was in Somerville Historical Cemetery. Pastor Taylor died on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at Hartselle Health Park ER. He was born February 10, 1950, in Franklin County, to David Hershel Taylor and Dorothy Seline McDowell Taylor. He was the minister of the United Christian Church of God for 33 years and was the evangelist for the Native American Tribe. He was also a tribal member of the Cherokee nation. He began his ministry as a youth minister and continued to minister to others throughout his life. Preceding him in death were his parents and a sister, Joyce Roof. Survivors include his wife, Linda Kloep Taylor; sons, Jason Taylor (Julie), Benjamin Taylor (Shannon), John Shiverdecker (Laura); daughters, Kari Linton (Don John), Rachel Lee (Dan) and Kathleen Burress (Clyde II); brother, Jerry Taylor (Debbie); sister, Donna Moore (Mark); twenty-three grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Benjamin Taylor, John Shiverdecker, Clyde Burress II, Trea Burress, Eli Shiverdecker and Larry Kloep.
