Eva man facing child porn charges arrested again for alleged sexual abuse
An Eva man out on bond for multiple counts of allegedly possessing child pornography was arrested April 4 and charged with two counts of first-degree sexual abuse, according to the Priceville Police Department.
Craig Anthony Knox, 46, was arrested in the 4000 block of Alabama 55 East and was transported to Morgan County Jail, where he was being held in lieu of a $60,000 bond, according to police.
Police said the two new charges stem from an investigation they began in February 2024.
According to a police affidavit, On Feb. 15, 2024, a report was taken on a possible inappropriate or illegal relationship with a child.
“A search warrant was conducted on Craig Anthony Knox’s residence and a Galaxy Tab A8 was seized,” the affidavit said. “A search warrant was obtained for the Galaxy Tablet A8 and from that search, the listed images were found.”
The affidavit said the tablet contained a visual depiction of a person under the age of 17 years engaged in sexual activity.
Knox was arrested March 21 of this year and charged with nine counts of possessing child sexual abuse material and six counts of transmitting obscene material to a child and was released on a $925,000 bond the same day. His jury trial on the child pornography charges is set for Sept. 15 in Morgan County Circuit Judge Charles Elliott’s courtroom, according to court records.
Knox was an 18-year veteran firefighter and supervisor at Hartselle Fire & Rescue before resigning in February 2024.
