Gregory Matthew Birdwell

Decatur A memorial service for Matthew Birdwell, 33, of Decatur, was held Saturday, March 29, 2025, at 1:00PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Michael Gunter officiating. Mr. Birdwell was born August 3, 1991, at Huntsville Hospital to Greg and Fran Birdwell. He passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at Decatur Morgan Hospital surrounded by loving friends and family. He was a loving husband, father, son, and brother. He loved working on cars; playing video games; and he was completely devoted to his family. Mr. Birdwell adored his cousin Noah Birdwell and loved spending time with family. He was preceded in death by his brother Zackery Jacob Birdwell. Survivors include his wife, Stephanie Birdwell; his daughter, Chloe Birdwell; his parents, Greg and Fran Birdwell; his brother, Corey Birdwell; and his lifelong best friend, Blake “Catfish” McCollum.
