Hartselle leads 10 local teams in poll

The first Alabama Sportswriters Association baseball and softball rankings of the season were released March
20, and a familiar team was at the top.
Fresh off an appearance in last year’s state final, Hartselle baseball was No. 1 in Class 6A.
Decatur Heritage baseball wasn’t far behind, coming in at No. 3 in Class 2A, while Lindsay Lane was No. 9 in
2A.
Athens Bible was ranked No.
5 in Class 1A.
Athens (6A), Lawrence County (5A) and Hatton (4A) received votes.
In softball, Athens and Lawrence County were ranked No. 2 in Class 6A and 5A, respectively.
Austin was No. 8 in Class
7A, Ardmore No. 10 in Class
5A, West Limestone No. 3 in Class 4A and Lindsay Lane No. 8 in Class 2A.
Hartselle (6A), Brewer (5A), East Limestone (5A), Hatton
(4A) and Athens Bible (1A) received votes.
