Hartselle High School’s Lady Tigers pushed No. 1 ranked John Carroll to five sets before losing in the opening round of the Final Eight Volleyball Tournament Wednesday.

Hartselle lost the first set 22-25, won the second 25-13, lost the third 21-25, won the fourth 25-21 and lost the fifth and final set 7-15.

“It was a hard fought match all the way,” said Hartselle head coach Tanya Lybarger. .”Our girls played well against a very good team.  It was tough going in as a fourth seed, but I’m proud of our girls for the fight they put up.”
