Eva Alumni hold reunion, sponsor concert

The Eva High School Alumni Association sponsored a concert and reunion of the 1930-1972 graduating classes Fri., July 12, in the school gymnasium, benefiting the courtyard project. The Flashbacks, a 1960s to modern day band, performed for over 100 guests, and Gary Dobbs, former Channel 31 meteorologist and current radio host of Gary’s World, emceed. Former sixth grade teacher Mrs. Gwen Morris Belcher surprised attendees with her presence. The Most Outstanding Alumni Award was presented to Bonnie Green Holmes.

Jake Sturdivant was the highest bidder during the reunion and concert on a custom quilt featuring pictures of the old high school that has been torn down and other buildings from the Eva community.
