The 114th Hartselle Camp Meeting is going on all this week at the Tabernacle.

Sunday evening started the annual camp meeting with a lesson from Evangelist Junior Hill. He spoke to a large crowd that overflowed from under the Tabernacle roof.

Second Vice President for the Hartselle Camp Meeting Association Glenn Thompson was happy with Sunday’s turnout.

“The place was packed,” Thompson said. “We had to bring out extra chairs so people could sit outside. It was just an excellent start to our week.”

Mon., June 24, was Pastor Appreciation Day. Retired minister from Frazer Memorial United Methodist Church in Montgomery, Dr. John Ed Mathison, delivered a lesson to the pastors and ministers from all over the state in attendance.

As a part of Pastor Appreciation Day, pastors were invited to meet with Dr. Mathison in the Tabernacle dining hall from 1 to 3:30 p.m. for a Church Growth Seminar.

All pastors were able to eat lunch free at the Hartselle Camp Meeting Monday afternoon.

Dr. Mathison spoke at Monday and Tuesday’s evening services as well. Other evangelists this week include Tommy Gray, David and Rachel Kerney, Phil Waldrep and Rob Cain.
