Hartselle 6U, 8U baseball all-stars advance to BPA Tournament of Champions

The Hartselle 6U and 8U baseball all-stars will play in the BPA Tournament of Champions starting July 8 in Montgomery. 

The 6U All-Stars finished second in the BPA State Tournament’s Gold Minor Division.  

The team finished pool play with a 1-1 record. The boys started with a 17-4 win over North Chilton and a 22-20 loss to Northport American. 

In bracket play, the 6U boys advanced to the finals by defeating the Northport Nationals 25-24. However, in the championship game, they lost to Corner 21-6. 

The 6U All-Stars are Axton Clopton, Luke Steelmon, Jett Brenner, Stone Morrow, Jase Henslee, Kayden Long, Trai Craig, Rhett Pfluefger, Zane Collier, and Brody Lake. The coaching staff is made up of Patrick Clopton, Chris Steelmon, Heath Morrow and Caleb Long. 

The 8U All-Stars won the BPA State Tournament’s Diamond Cup.  

The boys finished pool play with a 0-1-1 record. They opened with a 14-14 tie with Southside and then lost 11-3 to Shelby County. 

In bracket play, they advanced to the championship game with a 12-4 win over Good Hope and a 13-5 win over Arab. Then, in the championship game, they defeated Brewer 23-8. 

The 8U All-Stars are Kade Kugler, Grayson Booker, Carter Booker, Baker Moore, Bryant Ballew, John Steven Howell, Landon Weeks, Avry Eaton, Silas Young, Jasper Lowery, and Joel Blair. 

Jarrod Weeks, Kyle Kugler, Will Eaton, Jason Blair, and Bryan Moore make up the coaching staff.
