Priceville’s Jenna Walker signs with Western Kentucky

Priceville’s Jenna Walker signed with Western Kentucky University on the first day prospective athletes could sign with Division I universities.

Walker, a senior, made it official in front of family, coaches, teammates, and friends.

“I love Western Kentucky,” said Walker. “They have an excellent coach and staff that I look forward to playing under my next four years.”

Western Kentucky is coach by Greg Collins, who will be in his fourth year as head coach of the Lady Hilltoppers when Jenna arrives later this year.

“Jenna is a tremendous basketball player,” Said Collins. “But it is the things beyond basketball that makes her special. She has the ability to make everyone around her a better player.”

Jenna will finish her career at Priceville as the all-time assists leader and inside the Top 10 all-time in AHSAA history.

Collins said, “Jenna has a great feel as a passer, and that allows her teammates to go out and make a play.”

Walker is coached at Priceville by Terrie Nelson.

“Jenna makes everyone around her better, including myself,” said Nelson. “To see Jenna’s dream of playing Division I basketball being fulfilled is humbling. She has put so much time and effort into playing the game she loves.”

Jenna is the daughter of Lee and Kim Walker. Her mother is an assistant coach of Terrie Nelson and the Priceville Bulldogs.

“We are proud of the player she has become but, more importantly, the person she has become,” her mom, Kim Walker, said. “We think that Western Kentucky is a perfect fit for her.”

Priceville will always hold a special place in Jenna’s heart, especially the support received over the years.

“I want to make sure that the little girls in the stands know how much they mean to me and can do what I have done,” Walker said.
