Hawks pick up two 10-run victories

The Danville Hawks picked up two convincing wins last week, while Priceville spilt a pair with New Hope.

Danville 11, Colbert Heights 1
Danville raced past visiting Colbert Heights and picked up an 11-1 victory. Sawyer Tapscott led the Hawks with three RBI and a hit. Reece Cowart and Avery Brewer each had a hit and two RBI, while Kason Jeffries finished with two hits and an RBI.

Eli Coker pitched four innings to pick up the win, allowing a run on one hit while striking out four.

Danville 10, East Lawrence 0
Danville picked a 10-0 win over East Lawrence behind the pitching of Avery Brewer. He pitched a five-inning complete-game shutout to earn the win. He allowed three hits and struck out three.

Coker led the Hawks’ offense with three hits and four RBI. Aiden Holiday finished with two hits, two RBI and two runs scored, while Tapscott added two hits and an RBI.

Priceville 6, New Hope 4
The Bulldogs bounced back from their loss earlier in the week to defeat New Hope 6-4 to earn a split with the Indians last week. Colman Gann picked up the win after allowing two runs on two hits while striking out 10.

Jaidan Gordon finished with two hits and two RBI to lead Priceville, while Jake England had two hits, including a triple and an RBI.

New Hope 3, Priceville 0
Priceville fell 3-0 at home to New Hope and pitcher Riley Schutte. Schutte pitched a complete-game shutout, allowing only three hits while striking out 13 Bulldog batters.

Ethan Sherwood finished with two hits for Priceville in the loss.

Hanceville 13, Falkville 3
Falkville fell 13-3 to visiting Hanceville this past Thursday. Dawson Fowler led the Blue Devils with a hit and and RBI. Peyton Davis added two hits, while Owen Teague had a hit.

Wilson 10-11, Brewer 0-1
The Patriots dropped a twin-bill on the road at Wilson, losing 10-0 and 11-1 last Thursday. Danny Burney, Brayden Murphy, Kyle Johnson and Marc Rychetsky each had a hit for Brewer in game one, while Brayden Watkins had a double and an RBI in game two.
