Hartselle American advances; Nationals out

The Hartselle American 11-12 year olds advanced to the Sub-District Championship Game Tuesday night, while the Hartselle Nationals fell out of tournament with two losses.
Hartselle American lost to Decatur American Red Monday night 2-1, but still has the opportunity to advance to District play.
No information was available at press time on the Hartselle American game. See next week's edition for results.

Hartselle American 8, Decatur National 2
Thursday
David Reeves pitched a complete game for Hartselle and earned the win. He struck out 10 and allowed just four hits.
Garrett Turrentine led Hartselle at the plate with a homerun and a single. Jonathan Hartsell, Chad Girodo, Taylor Nelson, Zack Waddell and Daryn Raley all added singles.

Saturday
Four was the magic number.
Garrett Turrentine pitched a complete game, gave up four hits, walked four and struck out four for the win.
Jonathan Hartsell and Chad Girodo both ddoubled, while Andrew Howard, Turrentine, Payton Sittason and Zack Waddell all had singles.

Limestone East 8, Hartselle National 2
Thursday
Hartselle followed up its Area Championship with an 8-2 loss to Limestone East.
Three Hartselle pitchers combined allowed six hits, six strikeouts and three walks.
At the plate, Sam Fleischman hit a homerun, while Luke Bole, Russell Powell and Jake Wallace each had singles.
Hartselle National 12, Decatur National 3
Friday
Hartselle knocked out Decatur National in an elimination contest.
Luke Bole got the win, striking out 10 batters and walking two.
Russell Powell had the big hit of the game, a grand slam homerun. He added a single. Josh Doyle, Bole and Ryan Joy each had singles.
Limestone East 6, Hartselle National 3
Saturday
Limestone East got the better of Hartselle National again, knocking out the team from the tournament.
Sam Fleischman doubled, while Torrin Duper, Luke Bole, Josh Doyle, Braddock Wilson, Andrew Hampton and Austin Reeves each added base hits.
