Funeral for Bobby Edward Hanners, 70, of Eva was Sat., Sept. 11, at 10 a.m. at New Center Baptist Church with the Revs. Benjamin Bates and Harold Brown officiating.
Burial was in Mt. Tabor Cemetery.
Mr. Hanners died Wed., Sept. 8, 2010, at his residence. He was born Aug. 12, 1940, in Morgan County to Felton T. Hanners and Vennie Yeager Hanners. He was a member of New Center Baptist Church, a farmer and former owner of Hanners Grocery. He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, John Doyle Collins; a son, Bobby Edward Hanners Jr.; a brother, Buel Hanners; and a great-grandson, Jesse Robert Maxwell. He was affectionately known as “Bobbo” to his family and was eagerly awaiting the birth of twin great-grandsons. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Hanners of Eva; two daughters, Tammy Patterson and husband Mike of Falkville and DeAnn Childers and husband Ricky of Eva; a brother, Frank Hanners of Hartselle; a sister, LeeRee Hall of Hartselle; three grandchildren, Lindsey Puckett and husband Derick, Anna Maxwell and husband Jonathan and Landon Patterson; and a great-granddaughter, Lorelai Maxwell.
Pallbearers were Mike Patterson, Ricky Childers, Derick Puckett, Jonathan Maxwell, Frank Hanners and Jim Crowe.
Junior pallbearer was Landon Patterson.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to New Center Baptist Church Building Fund, Hospice of the Valley, or the Huntsville Hospital Foundation NICU “Jesse’s Blanket”.
