Oil spill changes vacation plans

I’m sure lots of folks have made plans to go to the beach this summer. With the BP oil spill creasing havoc along the Gulf Coast, most of your plans have changed. The most important thing is still to be able to spend quality time with your family. There are a number of alternate things you can do to make that possible.

Congratulations to Doug and Leona Fortinberry on the birth of their granddaughter,  Kaitlyn Eliza-beth Fortinberry was born on May 27, 2010, weighing six pounds and seven ounces. Her proud parents are Jarrod and Leslie Fortinberry.  Congratula-tions also to big brother Blake.
Happy anniversary wishes go out this week to Burgess and Angia Smith on June 18, Ford and Jane Gates on June 19, Fred and Evelyn Motes on June 20 and Randy and Tommy Whitten on June 23.
Happy anniversary wishes go out this week to my parents, Fred and Evelyn Motes. They will celebrate their 55th anniversary on Sunday, June 20. I love you both.
Happy birthday wishes go out to Burgess Smith, Glenda Lamberti and Amanda Austin Lacy, all on June 17, Garrett Roberts, Gracie Clemons and Bobby “B.J.” Maxwell, all on June 18, Kristi Wilson and Drew Kirkpatrick, both on June 20, Turner Lemmond, Jacob Doshier, both on June 21 and Diane Downer and Kirk Feemaster, both on June 22. .
Tim Penn was honored recently with a surprise birthday party by family and friends in honor of his 50th birthday.
Christian love and sympathy is extended to the family and friends of Dewayne Young and Glynn Rose Tapscott, to Randy Whitten in the loss of his aunt, Helen Whitten Jose of Michigan and to the family of Frank Long and Earl and Venita Rigsby in the loss of Earl’s brother, Billy Rigsby.
On Sunday, June 20, dads everywhere will be honored on Father’s Day. Words can’t express how much I appreciate my dad for all he has done for our family. I love you very much, Javon.
