Esther Pauline Callahan

Funeral for Esther Pauline Callahan, 97, of Murray, Ky., will be Wed., Oct. 17, at 1 p.m. at York Funeral Home with the Rev. Joe Daryl Thorn officiating.

A second service will be Thur., Oct. 18, at 1 p.m. at Oak Ridge United Methodist Church in Hartselle with the Rev. Joe Daryl Thorn officiating.

Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Friends may visit from noon until the funeral hour Thursday at Oak Ridge United Methodist Church in Hartselle.

Mrs. Callahan died at 9:05 p.m. Sunday at Spring Creek Health Care. She was born June 18,1915 in Hartselle to the late Eugene and Liz (Long) Hartselle.

She was married to William Edgar Callahan on Jan. 10,1931, and he preceded her in death Aug. 16, 1994. Three sisters, two brothers, and one great grandchild also preceded her in death.

She was a homemaker and a member of Ferguson Spring Baptist Church in Aurora, Ky.

She is survived by her son, Charles V. Callahan and wife Linda of Hardin, Ky.; two sisters, Dorothy Kirby and husband Kyle and Mary Sparkman, all of Hartselle; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
