Terry “Pepaw” McNutt

Funeral for Terry “Pepaw” McNutt, 68, of Hartselle will be Tues., Oct. 16, at 11 a.m. at Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home with the Rev. Tom Campbell officiating with burial in Caddo Cemetery.

Visitation will be Monday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. McNutt died Sat., Oct. 13, 2012, at Decatur Morgan Hospital. He was born Aug. 3, 1944, to Olin McNutt and Thella Crane McNutt in Winston County. Mr. McNutt served in the U.S. Army National Guard from 1968 to 1971. He was a member of the Danville Fire Department and served six years as assistant fire chief. He also served on the Morgan County Board of Directors. He was also a Member of Nunn-Oden Masonic Lodge # 398 F. & A.M. in Hartselle. Mr. McNutt volunteered at Danville-Neel Elementary School for many years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Virginia; and a daughter, Kimberly McNutt Cloer.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Betty D. McNutt; a son, Gary McNutt and wife Kathy of Hartselle; a daughter, Stephanie Kelsoe and husband Tracy of Danville; two grandsons, Ryan Terry Grantland and Aren James McNutt; a granddaughter, Rachaei McNutt of Panama City, Fla.; a brother, Louis D. Scott of Michigan; and two sisters, Peggy Lowery of Moulton and Wanda Moradi of Decatur.

Pallbearers will be Gary McNutt, Aren McNutt, Ryan Grantland, Tracy Kelsoe, Shannon McNutt, and Brandon Smith. Honorary Pallbearers will be Harold Knight, Jimmy Robbins and Ray Campbell.
