Hartselle Historical Society to host Lunch and Learn on Civil War battle
Staff Reports
History enthusiasts and residents alike are invited to a special Lunch and Learn event hosted by the Hartselle Historical Society on May 5. The event will take place from noon to 1:15 p.m. at the East Highland Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.
This month’s program will feature guest speaker Lee Greene, Jr., who will present a look into the Battle at the Woodall Bridge – a little-known but historically significant Civil War encounter that took place on West Main Street in Hartselle.
“This is a very historic story you will not want to miss,” society president Bettye English said. “It’s a great opportunity to connect with others who appreciate the rich history of our town.” Attendees are encouraged to bring their lunch and enjoy an hour of fellowship and storytelling.
