Dillard McLeroy

Decatur A funeral service for Dillard McLeroy, 79, was held Sunday, April 13, 2025 at 3:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Phillip Robinson officiating. Burial was in Falkville City Cemetery. Mr. McLeroy died on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at Decatur Morgan Hospital. He was born July 29, 1945, in Cullman County, to Kenneth Jones McLeroy and Exer Ree Motes McLeroy. Prior to his passing, he was selfemployed as a craftsman for Oak Reproductions. Mr. McLeroy belonged to the First Baptist Church in Falkville; was a graduate of Falkville High School and was loved by the Falkville community. He attended most sporting events as long as he was able and helped with the varsity football team in the late 60’s after graduating in 1965. He also coached the inaugural season of midget football at Falkville. He was an avid Alabama football fan. Preceding him in death were his parents; a sister, Ruth Holmes; and his grandparents. Survivors include his son, Clint McLeroy; and sister, Melba Fortenberry. Pallbearers were Jason Fortenberry, Philip Fortenberry, Marty Adams, David McLeroy, Bill Partridge, and Chris Mooneyham.
