Tigers sweep Decatur to secure spot in playoffs

The Hartselle Tigers rolled through their three-game series with Decatur, outscoring the Red Raiders 44-11 in sweeping the series. The Tigers ran their area win streak to 32 games, dating back to 2022.
Hartselle improves to 21-6 overall and 6-0 in area play. Decatur falls to 7-16 overall and 0-6 in area.
Game 1: Hartselle 10, Decatur 4 The Tigers defeated Decatur 10-4 in the game of their three game area series.
Hartselle took a 10-1 lead into the top of the seventh before the Red Raiders tried to rally before falling.
Cruise Baker finished with two hits, including a home run, and two RBIs to lead Hartselle at the plate. Ty Marsh and Braden Weathers added two hits and an RBI each.
Jace Meadows pitched six innings to earn the win. He allowed one run on two hits while striking out seven.

Jace Meadows earned a win after striking out seven Red Raiders’ in the Tigers’ 10-4 win over Decatur.
Game 2: Hartselle 14, Decatur 2 Hartselle plated two runs in the first and six in the second to jump out to a 9-0 lead on their way to a 14-2 victory in game two of their series with Decatur. Keeton Lance finished 3-for-3 with two RBIs and a run scored to lead the Tigers. Asher Doepel finished 2-for-3, including a double, with three RBIs and two runs scored. Easton Nelms and Cole Miles each had two hits, two runs scored and an RBI. Baker and Marsh each had a hit and two RBIs. Baker had a homerun, and three runs scored, while Marsh scored two runs.
Carter Lee pitched four innings to earn the win. He allowed two runs on three hits while striking out six. Game 3: Hartselle 20, Decatur 5 Hartselle broke open a 3-1 game with nine runs in the top of the fifth to take a 12-1 lead. They added eight runs in the top of the seventh to hit the 20-run mark.
Nelms finished 4-of-6, including a triple, four RBIs and two runs scored to lead the Tigers’ offense. Miles added two hits, including a home run, four RBIs and a run scored. Marsh and Eli King each had two hits and two RBIs. Sam Gillette and Cole Griffin also had two RBIs apiece.
