Prep Roundup: Hartselle tops Decatur for area win

Hartselle defeated Decatur 10-4 in baseball action April 1 to take a 1-0 area series lead over the Red Raiders.
The Tigers built a 10-1 lead through the first six innings and held off a small Decatur rally in the final inning to snag the win.
Cruise Baker continued to stay hot at the plate for Hartselle, finishing with two hits, including a home run, and two RBIs.
Ty Marsh and Braden Weathers each added two hits and an RBI for the Tigers. Trey Greenwell led Decatur with two hits, including a home run, and three RBIs.
Priceville 9, West Point 6: Jack Eubanks led Priceville with two hits and two RBIs. Tyde Borden added two hits and an RBI, while Tatum Sivley added a hit and two RBIs.
Danville 4, East Lawrence 1: Don Walker led Danville with two hits.
Eli Coker and Noah Dry each added a hit and an RBI, while Daniel Izquierdo led East Lawrence with a hit and an RBI.
Arab 5, Brewer 1: Jack Carnell had a hit and an RBI for Brewer.
Sparkman 13, Austin 0: Jaxon Potter and Trey Harville each had a hit for Austin.
Cold Springs 9, Falkville 1: Reed Dillard had Falkville’s lone hit.
Softball
Ardmore 17, Priceville 15: Addison Mikel had three hits, two RBIs and scored three hits as Ardmore defeated Priceville in a shootout.
Aynslee Malone added three hits and scored three runs. Macy Hardiman led Priceville with three hits and three RBIs, while Kelsey Green added two hits, three RBIs and two runs scored.
Hartselle 20, Decatur 0: Hartselle exploded for 18 runs in the second inning to earn the win April 1.
Kaelin Perdue drove in four runs on three hits, including a home run, and also scored two runs.
Hatsumi Peterson also homered, driving in three runs, while Morgan Osborn had two hits and two RBIs.
