John Glasscock
Hartselle A funeral service for John Glasscock, 98, will be Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at 5:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Glasscock passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at his residence. He was born January 20, 1927, in Morgan County, to John Asa Glasscock, Sr. and Sally Lavaga Dobbs Glasscock. Mr. Glasscock was a World War II Veteran. He was employed as a machinist for Wolverine Tube and also was a Crop-Duster. He flew planes all of his adult life; he enjoyed riding his motorcycle until about the age of 88; and he drove until the age of 94. He loved his family dearly and was a member of First Baptist Church in Hartselle. He was an Alabama football fan. Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Barbara Hale Glasscock; a son; John Hopkins, two brothers, Asa Woodrow Glasscock, and Major Truman Gregory Glasscock; and four sisters, Gerdys L. Glasscock Wilson, Eloise Glasscock, Mary Elise Glasscock Summers, and Marguaret Ann Glasscock. Survivors include his son, David Hopkins (Pam); seven grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and five great great grandchildren.
