Danville-Neel Elementary School to Celebrate 30th anniversary
Danville-Neel Elementary School will celebrate its 30th anniversary on April 1, 2025, in the DNES gym, and everyone is invited to join the festivities. The event will feature performances by Pre-K, first and second-grade students, followed by a “Walk Down Memory Lane” parade. The entire school community will come together to honor three decades of education and memories.
In addition to the celebration, kindergarten registration will take place on April 7 from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and again from 5-7 p.m. To enroll, students must be five years old on or before Sept. 1, 2025. Parents and guardians must bring a certified birth certificate, an updated immunization record, a Social Security card (preferred), and two proofs of residence, with one being a current power bill. Parents are also asked to bring their child for a screening. Out-of-district requests will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis, depending on the number of in-district students registered.
Current Danville-Neel Elementary Pre-K students will complete online registration later when returning student registration opens. The online registration link will be available on the Morgan County Schools website beginning March 31. For more information, call 256-773-7182.
Falkville students recognized in leadership program
Congratulations to Katherine Wood and Taylor Smith for representing Falkville High School in the Morgan County Edge Student Leadership Program in Montgomery. This is an incredible achievement, and the school is proud of their hard work and dedication.
Danville students advance to regional 4-H competition
Several Danville Middle School 4-H members placed at the Morgan County Roundup last week, with multiple students earning first place and advancing to the regional competition in May. The students moving on to regionals are Maggie Smith, Rebekah Wallace, Abigail Flowers, Kate Glasscock, Kasalyn Johnson, Madalyn Livingston and Promise Freeman. Congratulations to all, and best of luck at the next level of competition.
