Town of Falkville schedules Eggfest for April 12
The Town of Falkville will host its annual Eggfest on April 12 at 2 p.m. at South Park, located at 1082 Culver Road in Falkville. The event will feature an Easter Bunny, food, drinks, and an egg hunt for attendees to enjoy.
Falkville Fire and Rescue responds to 65 calls In other community news, the Falkville Fire and Rescue Department responded to 65 calls for service in February. These included 32 EMS calls, 13 motor vehicle collisions, five brush fires, four business fire alarms, three residential fires, two weather-related incidents, one business fire, one lift assist, one passenger vehicle fire, one residential fire alarm, and one water rescue. The department maintained a 97% response rate, with two missed calls for mutual aid and a total of 13 mutual aid responses. Additionally, several members are halfway through their EMT training. The department also assisted in providing medical support for the Night to Shine event at Fairview’s The Grace Place.
Danville High to hold drawdown
Meanwhile, Danville High School Football Boosters will hold their annual Drawdown on Saturday, April 26, in the school cafeteria. A $100 donation includes two steak dinners and one entry into the drawdown. The grand prize will be $7,500, with second and third prizes of $1,000 and $500, respectively. Additional prizes will be awarded through random drawings. Dinner will be served at 5 p.m., with other activities beginning at 6 p.m. Attendees do not have to be present to win, but a ticket stub must be presented for entry. Insurance will be available at the door for $25.
