Local athletes named to All-State teams

The Alabama Sports Writers Association recently released their All-State basketball teams for each classification.
Five local players and a coach were selected to the announced teams.
Class 6A
Hartselle sophomore Hannah Burks was named to the 6A All-State first team. She scored 17 points per game and had 70 steals, leading the Lady Tigers to their second consecutive regional final.
Ty Odom was named to the honorable mention team. He averaged 19 points and five rebounds per game for the Tigers. He will continue his career at Montevallo.
Class 5A
Priceville senior Leah Childress was named first-team All-State. She closed her career by averaging 19 points and five rebounds per game, with 139 steals. She will con-tinue her career at Wallace State.
Brewer head coach Matthew Crowe was named the Class 5A coach of the year after leading the Patriots to a school record 25 wins.
Patriots senior Jackson Dunn was named to the honorable mention team. He led Brewer with 15 points and five rebounds per game.
Class 2A
Falkville freshman Leah Pierce was named to the honorable mention team. She averaged 18 points and six rebounds per game with 93 steals, leading the Lady Blue Devils to the sub-region.
