Lady Tigers come from behind to defeat Ardmore

The Hartselle Lady Tigers opened the week with a matchup against visiting 5A Ardmore. Due to rain, an area game with Muscle Shoals was suspended and rescheduled for April 17.
Hartselle 5, Ardmore 4 The Lady Tigers rallied from a 4-2 deficit to defeat Ardmore March 10. The Lady Tigers scored first when Hatsumi Peterson hit a home run to right field to open the bottom of the second inning. Hartselle extended the lead to 2-0 when Ryley Cate Wolf singled to bring home KJ Prater in the third inning. Ardmore responded with four runs in the top of the fourth inning to take a 4-2 lead.
The Lady Tigers tied the game in the bottom of the fifth when Wolf singled to right field, driving home Prater and Morgan Osborn to make the score 4-4. Two batters later, Kaelyn Perdue hit a sacrifice fly to center field, plating Katie Norgard to give Hartselle a 5-4 lead. Bailey Lawrence, who got the start, shut down Ardmore over the final two innings to secure the victory. She allowed four runs, three earned, on five hits while striking out four in seven innings. Wolf finished 2-for-3 with two RBIs to lead Hartselle (7-5-1). Peterson and Perdue added RBIs while Prater scored two runs. Osborn, Norgard and Peterson also scored runs.
