Hartselle A funeral service for Candice Elaine Young, 59, was held Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at 1:00PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Gabe Ross officiating. Candace passed away March 6, 2025. She is survived by her loving husband and soulmate Yancy Brian Young; sons Collin Wagner Young of Bismark, North Dakota, and Nicolas Pryor Young (Nataly) of Fairbanks, Alaska; mother, Jeanette Ellis (John); father Robert Sink; sisters, Alicia Boyd (Bill) and Paula Engle; niece Erica Hood (Adam); and nephews Andrew Engle, Adam Engle, Cody Boyd, James Vice, Graham Vice, Nathan Vice, Christian Hulvey and Taylor Hulvey. Candice was born in Richmond, Indiana and moved to North Alabama as a young adult. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from UAH and used her creativity and artistic abilities in many capacities, but none were more treasured than the custom paintings she made for friends and family. Through the years she felt drawn to opportunities that allowed her to help others. One of her most rewarding roles was the many years that she worked as a substitute teacher for Hartselle City Schools. Her can-do, get-itdone attitude made her a favorite among the teachers, and she was often requested for long term assignments. Another beloved role was that of a licensed cosmetologist. Her knowledge of hair styling and insight into the needs of her clients were a blessing to many. Above all, she was devoted to her husband and children and went to great lengths to love, support, and inspire them. Those who knew her knew a gentle, generous, hardworking woman who was quick to offer help to those in need whether they were friends, family, acquaintances or strangers. The family is appreciative of the outpouring of love during this time of grief. Memorials in Candice’s honor may be made to the Morgan Baptist Association in Hartselle, Alabama.
