Tigers drop home opener to Hazel Green

The Hartselle Tigers baseball team opened their home season March 6 with a game against Hazel Green. The Tigers have played on the road the past three weeks. Hartselle fell to the visiting Trojans 6-1.
The Tigers are now 7-4 on the season.
Hazel Green 6, Hartselle 1 Hazel Green scored two runs in the top of the first on two ground outs. They added another run in the top of the third. They piled on three runs in the top of the fourth to extend their lead to 6-0.
The Tigers got on the board in the bottom of the fifth when Cruise Baker’s two-out double brought home Whit Crisler.
Baker finished with a double and an RBI to lead Hartselle. Cain Falciani, Sam Gillette and Crisler also had a hit apiece.
Jace Meadows took the loss after allowing three runs (one earned) on four hits with two strikeouts. Carson Wilson gave up three runs in an inning of relief for Meadows. Will Sharp and Ty Marsh combined for three innings of scoreless relief.
