Prep roundup: Brewer, Danville manhandle opponents

Many games within the county were canceled this week due to the threat of severe weather. Brewer dominated 6A Cullman. Elizabeth Murphy of Priceville stood out from inside the circle, striking out 13 batters in two games.
Izzy Guest shined in the batter’s box with her two homers against Tharptown.

The Patriots ran all over the Bearcats March 6, scoring eight runs in the third inning alone. LC Hamilton went three for three, including a double. She also batted three runners in and scored twice herself. Abby Summerford hit a solo shot to center field in the fourth inning. Gracie Lawrence earned the win from inside the circle.
Danville 16, Tharptown 5 Danville had a great offensive performance on March 3 against the Wildcats. Izzy Guest put on a show for the Hawks, batting 4-4, including two home runs and three RBIs. She also reached home plate four times. Aubrey Reed and Kate Randolph tripled for Danville, and Addi Hill hit a double.
Priceville 6, Westminster Christian 1 Elizabeth Murphy shut down the Wildcats March 3, striking out nine.
Madison Lafountain, Bailey Smyth, and Darby Thigpin each hit homers for the Bulldogs. Thigpin also doubled twice. In total, Priceville collected 11 hits in their win against Westminster Christian.
James Clemens 7, Priceville 6 The Bulldogs fought neck and neck with the 7A Jets from James Clemens on Thursday night. Elizabeth Murphy struck out four batters for Priceville while also batting three for three and recording two RBIs.
