Janice Dotson
Hartselle Janice Dotson passed away peacefully at home on Friday, February 28, 2025, at the age of 77, surrounded by her loving family. Born on April 3, 1947, in Taft, Tennessee, Janice was the daughter of William and Annie Perry. She was known for her strong will, unwavering determination, and deep devotion to her family. A lifelong sports enthusiast, she played both softball and basketball in her younger years. Janice dedicated 30 years of service as a financial manager for the Department of Defense, a career that took her around the world. She held assignments in Germany, Panama, Korea, Hawaii, and Kwajalein before returning to the Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama. She had a passion for photography, traveling, and flying, earning her private pilot’s license. Above all, she cherished time with her family-especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her favorite place of peace and serenity was the Key House in Hartselle, where she created lasting memories with loved ones. Janice was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, and two sisters. She is survived by her loving husband, Bob Dotson; her children, Stanley Hodges, Scott Dotson, and Ann Ullery; six grandchildren, Jay Ullery, Nikki Falletta, Meggan Cavan, Braeden Hodges, and Colby Ullery; and two great-grandchildren, Aubree and Teagan Falletta. A funeral service was held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Peck Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Brother Steve Hargrove. Burial was at the Crab, Stewart, Key, Dotson Cemetery. Pallbearers were family and friends. Following the interment service, the family invites all friends to join them for a celebration of life at the Key House.
