Lady Tigers outscore opponents 37-5 in two wins

The Hartselle Lady Tigers rolled through two opponents last week, piling up 37 runs, while allowing only five. They defeated Grissom 17-1 and Hayden 20-4.
Hartselle 17, Grissom 1 The Lady Tigers used a big first inning to defeat Grissom 17-1 at Toyota Field Feb. 24. They plated 12 runs in the inning to run away from the Grissom. The Lady Tigers added a run in the second and four more in the third to end the game.
Katie Norgard finished with two hits, including a double, and three RBIs to lead Hartselle. Brityan Godfrey added two singles and two RBIs, while Morgan Osborn and Ryley Cate Wolf had a hit and two RBIs each. Hatsumi Peterson added two hits, including a double, and one RBI.
Kenlee Smothers picked up the win with a scoreless inning of work, striking out one. Bailey Lawrence pitched the final two innings, allowing one run on one hit with four strikeouts.
Hartselle 20, Hayden 4
The Lady Tigers hit four home runs in racing past Hayden 20-4 Feb. 27.
Hayden took the early lead with three runs in the bottom of the first inning. Hartselle took control of the game with six runs in the third inning, three in the fourth and fifth and eight in the sixth to put the game away. Norgard finished with three hits, including two home runs, and seven RBIs. Goffrey finished five-of-five with a dou-ble, four RBIs and two runs scored. Zoe Hitt added three hits, including a home run and a double, with four runs scored and two RBIs. Peterson added a home run. KJ Prater added two hits and three RBIs, while Osborn had two hits and three runs scored.
Lawrence pitched a complete game to earn the win. She allowed four runs on eight hits with one strikeout.
