HACC slates award luncheon for April 11
The Hartselle Area Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual awards luncheon April 11 at Hartselle First Assembly of God. The event will be held from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Nominations are open now through March 16 for various community awards that will be presented at the luncheon. The following awards will be presented at the event: E.R. Roberts Business Award
Since 1989, this award has honored individuals who embody the principles of integrity, hard work and community dedication. E.R. Roberts opened his clothing store in downtown Hartselle in 1921 at just 20 years old. For 69 years, he built a business founded on honesty, fairness, and an unwavering commitment to civic pride. His reputation was legendary-so much so that when he once overcharged a customer by just 17 cents, he spent nearly two hours tracking them down to return it. He was a beloved businessman, not just for his success, but for the way he invested in the people of Hartselle. His legacy continues to shape our business community today. This prestigious award recognizes an individual who follows in his footsteps-someone who not only excels in business but also gives back selflessly, making Hartselle a better place to live, work and thrive.
Dr. Thomas M Guyton Humanitarian Award The Hartselle Area Chamber of Commerce proudly established the Thomas M. Guyton Award in 1980 to honor an extraordinary individual whose servant leadership strengthens our community. This prestigious award is given to someone who is truly a gift to Hartselle-a person who dedicates their time, talents, and heart to making a lasting impact without seeking recognition or reward. The recipient of this award embodies the Chamber’s mission of Empower. Elevate. Innovate. They are a tireless advocate for others, always willing to lend a hand, share their wisdom, and uplift those around them. Whether through their church, workplace, or Chamber initiatives and programs, their deep-rooted commitment to service is evident in all they do. No matter how busy life gets, they always make time to serve, lead, and inspire. This award stands as a testament to a person whose generosity, dedication, and unwavering community spirit make Hartselle a better place to live, work, and thrive.
Tommy Ed Roberts Civic Award This award recognizes an individual who exemplifies deep pride in their community and is dedicated to its growth and betterment. This recipient continuously demonstrates a strong commitment to the wellbeing of all community members through generous acts of service, time, and resources.
